HAPPY School - Home of Active Positive and Progressive Youth

Our bilingual school has been involved in Erasmus+ projects since 2015 resulting in the continuous development in every area of school life. Four new colleagues joined our current project including the head of our school. To answer today’s challenges, we feel the need to cultivate a HAPPY teaching and learning relationship, where the educator is also learning from the student. We aim to understand the importance of incorporating teaching and learning practices that promote the development of emotional and mental wellbeing. We also seek to include more use of ICT during our lessons, use different apps or trusted online resources in order to move from an analogue classroom to a more digital one.

During the mobilities and programmes of this Erasmus+ project, we wish to work with other schools, institutions and peer teachers to further develop our understanding on active and progressive learning, which is neither only academics, nor merely intellectual growth but collaborative problemsolving, healthy relationships, resilience and social and emotional development.

Our strategic plan includes shaping a new profile for our standard curricula classrooms by strengthening the language profile and further supporting their personality development. Most of our job shadowing partners have experience in integrating and including SEN students into the regular school system so we would like to learn how to develop their capabilities, while also acknowledging differences and disorders.

Being a bilingual school for more than 19 years we seriously take the task of being a methodological centre for dissemination and renewing our teaching practices from every possible aspect. The objectives of our project link with our school's improvement plan for 2019-2020, and they continue to be an area of development, as we believe that the professional courses and job shadowing activities help our staff to understand and integrate the acquired knowledge in their planning and teaching process.

Altogether, there are 15 teachers involved in this project. All of our participating staff have been involved in eTwinning projects, Erasmus+ cooperative activities and they bring a great experience of the European culture in teaching and learning. Most of them need to improve their English or German language skills and at the same time learn innovative practices and better use of ICT.

Participants enhance innovative pedagogical practices from ICT tools, drama and role-play, compilation of video essays to project based teaching and act as trainers and disseminators of HAPPY School - Home of Active Positive and Progressive Youth for other colleagues within their
school, local community and country.

The general impact on the staff is increased motivation and promoting an atmosphere of caring and trust among staff. As a result, there is more cooperative interaction with students and the teachers demonstrate a willingness to change practices in the light of new understandings. It also has an effect of intellectual stimulation – encouraging staff to reflect on what they are trying to achieve with students and how they are doing it.

Overall, we expect that our staff will become much more confident on developing a Partnership for 21st century skills, mainly learning and innovation skills and digital literacy.

Our school has been continuously complimented on its readiness to share and disseminate the knowledge our teachers acquired during their national or international workshops, and its teaching practices that promote 21st century skills. It plays an important role in the local community and parents are actively involved in our school activities. Our school has made technological advances to help promote innovative teaching and learning practices, as we want to offer long lasting learning experiences to all of our pupils.

The Project outcomes are shared with the community of the school and on our website. On Erasmus Day, POK Autumn Methodological Day, and at the Pasaréti Professional Workshop we disseminate our experience and look into developing greater understanding of the academic scope and rationale of progressive learning and teaching. Preparing European learning materials for the European Schoolnet and coordinating eTwinning projects we seek an active involvement of students from the planning to the implementation.

We have been reinforcing teaching and learning practice towards a more inquisitive, questioning and critical attitude as well as a developing of a deeper understanding of important ideas. As teachers, we very often have to help our students to understand their role in their community, their country, and their world, which is constantly changing.

Iskolánk 2015 óta vesz részt Erasmus+ projektekben, amely az iskolai élet minden területén folyamatos fejlődést eredményez. Idei projektünkhöz négy új kolléga csatlakozott, köztük iskolánk intézményvezetője is. A mai kor kihívásainak szellemében szükségét érezzük, hogy megteremtsük a
BOLDOG tanítás és tanulás feltételeit. Célunk, hogy a szellemi és érzelmi jóllét fejlesztését biztosító módszereket alkalmazzuk. Ugyanakkor elengedhetetlen, hogy több IKT eszközt, megbízható online forrásanyagot és alkalmazást használjunk tanóráinkon, hogy továbbléphessünk az analóg tanításról a digitálisabbra.

A mobilitások és más programok során szeretnénk együtt dolgozni más iskolákkal, intézményekkel és szaktanárokkal, hogy tovább fejleszthessük tudásunkat az aktív és progresszív tanulás témakörében, ami nem csak elméleti, elvont tudás vagy szellemi gyarapodás, hanem együttműködő, csoportos problémamegoldás, egészséges kapcsolatok, rugalmasság és érzelmi fejlődés. 

 

Stratégiai tervünk része iskolánk jelenleg kevésbé vonzó általános tantervű osztályai számára új arculat kialakítása. Ennek lényege, hogy ezekben az osztályokban is erősítjük az idegennyelvi profilt, és nagy hangsúlyt fektetünk a gyermekek személyiségfejlesztésére. A tanfolyamok és iskolalátogatások folyamatosan inspirálják kollégáinkat abban, hogy megszerzett ismereteiket felhasználják munkájukban.

Partneriskoláink, ahol iskolalátogatást tervezünk, nagy tapasztalattal rendelkeznek a sajátos nevelési igényű gyerekek integrálásában. Szeretnénk a megszerzett tapasztalatokat sikerrel alkalmazni a hagyományos iskolarendszerben, megtanulni, hogyan fejleszthetjük készségeiket tudomásul véve különbözőségüket és beilleszkedési-, tanulási- és/vagy magatartási zavaraikat. Iskolánk 19 éve két tanítási nyelvű intézményként működik, és komolyan vesszük azon célkitűzésünket, hogy módszertani központtá nőjük ki magunkat és minden lehetséges szempontból megújítsuk tanítási gyakorlatunkat.

Összesen 15 tanár vesz részt jelenlegi projektünkben. Minden kollégánk részt vesz eTwinning projektekben és Erasmus+ együttműködési tevékenységekben vagy partnerként vagy koordinátorként és az európai kultúráról szerzett tapasztalataikat beépítik tanóráikba. Résztvevő tanáraink nagy részének szüksége van angol vagy német nyelvtudásának fejlesztésére, az IKT eszközök hatékonyabb alkalmazásának megtanulására valamint innovatív gyakorlatok és tapasztalatok szerzésére a Boldog Iskolához kapcsolódóan.

A projekt hatására több innovatív pedagógiai gyakorlat kerül bevezetésre, dúsul az IKT eszközök használata, előtérbe kerül a drámapedagógia, a szerepjáték és a projekt alapú oktatás. Ugyanakkor a HAPPY School - Home of Active Positive and Progressive Youth projekt résztvevői megosztják tapasztalataikat nemcsak az iskolában, hanem a helyi közösségekben és országos szakmai napok alkalmával is.

A résztvevő tanárok számára várható fontos eredmények és hatások közé tartozik a megnövekedett motiváció. Ennek eredményeként több kooperatív együttműködés várható a diákokkal és az oktatók több hajlandóságot mutatnak, hogy megváltoztassák tanítási gyakorlatukat az új tapasztalatok és tanultak tükrében.

Iskolánk egyik erőssége, a projektekben szerzett tapasztalatok széles körű megosztása, a 21. századi készségeket felhasználó jó gyakorlatok példájának bemutatása nemcsak iskolán belül, hanem tankerületi és országos szakmai napok alkalmával is. Lelkesen támogatjuk az innovatív tanítási módszereket és szeretnénk sokáig ható tanulási tapasztalatokkal gazdagítani tanítványainkat.

A projekt eredményeit publikáljuk honlapunkon is. Szakmai napokat szervezünk saját kollégáink számára belső továbbképzés formájában, valamint nyílt programokat, mint az Erasmus Day, a Pedagógiai Oktatási Központ Őszi Szakmai Napja és a Pasaréti Szakmai Nap, ahol az előző tanévben már több mint 60 résztvevőt köszönthettünk. Az European Schoolnet szervezésében az Europeana Tömeges Nyitott Online Kurzusának videó feladatában a diákok aktívan részt vesznek, szerepelnek a tervezési fázistól a megvalósításig.

Iskolánk évek óta támogatja azon tanítási gyakorlatokat, amelyek a kíváncsiságon, kérdésfelvetésen, kritikus gondolkodásmódon és lényeges gondolatok elmélyített megértésén alapulnak. Tanárokként feladatunk segíteni tanítványainkat, hogy megértsék szerepüket és megtalálják helyüket szűkebb közösségükben, az országban és a világban, amely folyamatosan változik.
